The new RobotPro Web Edition from Motoman Inc., Dayton, OH, facilitates preventive maintenance, alarm-code troubleshoot-ing and repair procedures on Motoman robots with NX-series controllers. The software is tailored to each specific robot model and is structured in a user-friendly format with illustrated, step-by-step procedures, according to company officials. Being web-based, the software can be used on a laptop computer, making the system portable.
RobotPro Web Edition includes descriptive test and repair procedures with illustrative graphics and provides a preventive-maintenance schedule with links to procedures, printable for use as a convenient checklist. Interactive troubleshooting is another feature along with diagnostic information for more than 300 alarm codes. The software helps pinpoint alarm causes then prompts the user through steps necessary to correct them, minimizing robot downtime.
For repair procedures, the software includes instructions, photographs, drawings and schematics for lubrication as well as for motor, servo-pack and fuse replacement. Also included: wiring diagrams, exploded parts views, part numbers and spare-parts lists.
The model-specific software, available on a yearly subscription basis but free for trial and evaluation, requires a high-speed Internet connection and a PC with compatible web browser. Additional robots can be added to the software at a fraction of annual subscription cost.
