Automobile Press Line with Automation SystemOctober 1, 2016
Strothmann Machines & Handling GmbH
The FeederPlus linear robot system from Strothmann, equipped with additional rotating axes that can orient blanks during transfer, promises to outperform conventional six-axis robots in press-automation applications, in terms of speed and flexibility. The concept, proven in many tandem press lines, can perform rotary motions in the B axis—orienting the rotating arm. Due to a laterally offset design, the diagonal speed component can be eliminated. The unit suits operation in press gaps measuring at least 6500 mm and as large as 11,000 mm; maximum load is 125 kg. Repeatability, ±0.25 mm.
Also on display: the CompactTransfer system that makes orientation stations between presses unnecessary. The system picks up the parts, orients them and places them in the following press all by itself.www.strothmann-us.com
