Artec 3D Launches Metrology-Grade Scanner With Micro Capabilities

Artec 3D, a Santa Clara, CA-based provider of 3D printing solutions, announced the addition of Artec Micro, an automated, metrology-grade desktop 3D scanner, to its portfolio of 3D scanning solutions. The offering includes cutting-edge twin cameras and LED lights synchronized with the scanner’s dual-axis rotation system, creates digital copy using minimal frames. With a single click, this automated, industrial scanner springs creates a high-resolution color 3D scan to 10µ, one-tenth the size of a single grain of table salt.

“Artec Micro is capturing details that are four times smaller than what is visible with the average human eye,” says Artyom Yukinm, president and CEO of Artec 3D. “Now users can 3D scan almost any object with Artec 3D’s line of five scanners; from a tiny mechanical part with Artec Micro to a jumbo jet with Artec Ray.”
