Robert Morris University’s (RMU) newly opened 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing Laboratory at the Energy Innovation Center in the historic Hill District of Pittsburgh, PA, promise “opportunities for everyone” in the city, says Christopher Howard, RMU president.

Located about 20 mi. from the RMU campus in Moon Township, PA, the lab’s signature programs offer 42-hr. job training course funded through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and an 18-credit certificate course in manufacturing engineering that can go toward a bachelor’s degree in engineering while serving as a credential for employers.
Maria Kalevich, dean of RMU’s school of Engineering, Mathematics and Science, says the lab can serve as another means of growing the local workforce to meet the current and projected shortfall of skilled workers.
