S&P Global Mobility’s Light-Vehicle Production Forecast

The November global light-vehicle production forecast from S&P Global Mobility highlights a stark divergence in the global auto market, with a massive production upgrade in China contrasting sharply with the modest growth and persistent headwinds facing North America and Europe. The production landscape is being reshaped by powerful regional dynamics and an evolving U.S. trade environment. As automakers continue to absorb tariff-related costs, future impacts on consumer demand remain a key concern, the report notes.

Despite an overall increase of 22,000 units for 2025, North American production faces significant challenges. While GM and Stellantis saw upward revisions, Ford's F-Series outlook was adjusted downward due to an aluminum shortage, highlighting the fragility of the supply chain.
