John Bouchard & Sons Co. is celebrating its 125th year in business. From the first refrigeration systems in The Hermitage Hotel and Vanderbilt Hospital to advanced manufacturing infrastructure across the modern Mid-South, the JBS tradition of innovation and excellence has helped create and maintain the systems that facilitate flourishing communities. Headquartered in its original location near Nashville, TN, and with a foundry facility only a few blocks away, JBS also operates branch offices in Knoxville, TN, Elizabethtown, KY, and Evansville, IN.
Begun in 1900 as a Nashville machine shop, the company incorporated in 1913. Today, as a fifth-generation, family-owned, diversified business, it operates four fully integrated divisions:
• Equipment sales and service: supplies, services, rents and rebuilds air compressors and dryers as well as pumping, nitrogen generation and vacuum systems.
• Foundry: provides municipal castings across including manhole covers, trench grates, curb inlets, valve boxes and other foundry products.
• Machine services: provides field service and shop repair for all types of pumps, air compressors, stamping presses, blowers, gear boxes and other rotating equipment.
• Construction: offers over a century of experience in turnkey electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection and fabrication projects.
The Tennessee Legislature recently honored the company with “A Resolution to recognize the 125th anniversary of John Bouchard & Sons Co.,” which Governor Bill Lee signed. JBS also is a Woman Business Enterprise, certified by The Governor’s Office of Diversity Business Enterprise (GO-DBE) for the State of Tennessee.
A forthcoming commemorative book from Grandin Hood Publishers will chronicle the JBS journey—from John Bouchard’s 19th century immigrant American Dream story to the modern industrial projects of today.
