Compact, 3-Ton-Capacity AGV

The new Stäubli PF3 automated guided vehicle (AGV) features a compact design that enables the lifting and carrying of payloads to 3 tons with high positioning precision (±5 mm).

The PF3 base measures 1750 by 970 mm with a 350-mm height without lift unit and 400-mm height with the unit. For simplified integration, it offers standard software interfaces, and electrical and mechanical interfaces allow for third-party add-ons. PF3 charging reportedly is quick—to 80 A—and the unit can last to 7000 charging cycles. Side access to components, and quick-change capability of critical parts eases maintenance. Safety-wise, the PF3 features a human safety scanner, five emergency-stop buttons, status communication via an LED strip and collision-avoidance technology.

The high capacity of the PF3 and even larger-capacity Stäubli AGVs frequently find use in automated die and material movement at OEMs and Tier-One suppliers, company officials told us at Automate 2023.
