Esab Welding & Cutting Products, Florence, SC, announced that its cutting systems stand in full compliance with the new European EN ISO standard 17916, governing the safety of thermal-cutting machines. Machines manufactured at the firm’s facility in Karben, Germany, will meet the new safety requirements, slated to go into effect late in 2014. The standard requires OEMs to conduct safety evaluations and testing, defining risks to operators and the measures developed to counter them.
