GE Aviation Breaks Ground for OH Mfg. Facility, with Full Operations by End of 2022

GE Aviation has broken ground for its new, lean engine-component-manufacturing facility on 53 acres of the Miami Valley Research Park in Beavercreek, OH, near Dayton. The 280,000-sq.-ft. facility, expected to be fully operational by the end of 2022, will employ a variety of processes to produce parts for civil and military aviation, and aero-derivative applications.
The new facility is designed optimize manufacturing operations and advanced-technology development in one location, combining operations from seven buildings. It will focus on new-technology development and new-product introduction, developing and manufacturing gas-turbine-engine components and mechanical systems. Approximately 400 current GE Aviation employees will be located at the new operation.
“This project is setting the stage for the future of this business by allowing us to serve our customers better due to lean productivity and an increase in flexibility as a workforce, that will improve and maintain our competitiveness for the future,” says Kristie West, general manager of GE Aviation. “I’m extremely proud of this project and where we are as a team. I couldn’t be more excited for the Dayton team and the community.”
