ASTM International has released a new standard, F3049: Guide for Characterizing Properties of Metal Powders Used for Additive Manufacturing Processes. It’s designed to provide guidance for engineers looking to measure the properties of AM powders, which find use in high-grade biomedical implants, automotive and aerospace parts.

Download the standard (as a PDF) at www.astm.org/Standards/F3049.htm.
