NAM Economist Expounds on Manufacturing's Multiplier Effect
Forbes published this article by Chad Moutray, chief economist at the National Association of Manufacturers, emphasizing that "the broader U.S. economy will not be able to grow robustly without a rebound in manufacturing." Moutray makes the case that while manufacturing accounts for only 12 percent of GDP, down sharply from 31 percent in the 1960s, it provides "the highest multiplier effect of any major sector," he writes. "For every dollar spent in manufacturing, another $1.81 is added to the economy."

Moutray goes on to discuss what he sees as the key factors hampering U.S. manufacturing growth, and provides his reasons for being bullish about its long-term prospects.

PFA Makes Die Positioning Easy
PFA Mechanical Die Lifters are actuated by hand to the lifted position prior to die insertion and then released to lower the die. They are portable and can be taken from press to press. These units can be used in multiple presses, greatly reducing QDC equipment costs.
Dexco Cantilever Racks
Dexco Cantilever Racks are engineered to handle loads in excess of 20,000 pounds per individual rack arm and provide more than 40' of vertical storage. Wide flange beams deliver greater strength and durability as compared to roll-formed steel and accommodate more storage levels to maximize floor space. Learn more at www.dexcoracks.com.
