FABTECH 2013 Largest Show in History

A record number of participants saw firsthand the innovation that drives U.S. manufacturing at FABTECH 2013—the largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event in North America. Held November 18-21 at McCormick Place in Chicago, a record-breaking 40,667 attendees walked the 650,000 net sq. ft. of floor space that featured nearly 1600 exhibitors showcasing the latest technology.

The FABTECH educational conference, held simultaneously with the four-day expo, included more than 100 valuable educational sessions, including 64 new courses that have never been offered at previous FABTECH events.

Several special events also were held in conjunction with FABTECH including the second annual 5K Run for Manufacturing, which raised money for the educational foundations of the cosponsoring associations; PMA’s Awards of Excellence in Metalforming reception; roundtable meetings specifically for slide formers, metal fabricators and roll formers; and a Women in Manufacturing networking reception.

FABTECH 2013 in Chicago set the tone for the upcoming year of international programming by the FABTECH partners. FABTECH Canada will take place March 18-20, 2014, at the Toronto Congress Centre. On April 10-12, the inaugural FABTECH India, co-located with the India Institute of Welding’s Weld India Exhibition, will take place in New Delhi. On May 6-8, FABTECH Mexico will take place at the Centro Banamex in Mexico City.

Also, be sure to mark your calendar for FABTECH 2014, to be held November 11-13 in Atlanta, GA. Visit www.fabtechexpo.com or contact Doug Trout at 216/901-8800 or dtrout@pma.org for more information.

PMA and Other FABTECH Show Partners Launch
Fundraising Campaign to Help Illinois Storm Victims

The FABTECH Expo 2013 show partners offer their condolences to the victims of the severe storms and tornados that devastated Washington, IL, and other areas of the state on November 17.

Citizens of our host state for FABTECH 2013 are struggling to recover from the physical and economic damage caused by the storm that hit on a set-up day for the show.

Some of our exhibitors and attendees were directly impacted by this tragedy.

Several show exhibitors have started to raise funds for the victims of the storm, with California-based Sutherland Presses pledging to match contributions up to a total of $5,000.

The five FABTECH show partners—SME, the American Welding Society (AWS), the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, International (FMA), the Precision Metalforming Association, and the Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI)—are donating $10,000 to this relief campaign, and encourage all show exhibitors and attendees to contribute.

FABTECH is using the Crowdrise tool to raise money in support of American Red Cross Disaster Relief. You'll receive a confirmation and a tax-receipt from Network for Good, which processes these donations. Thank you in advance for your donation, which will enable the Red Cross to provide shelter, food and other assistance in response to the storms. Support this effort by donating today!
