Day Three at FABTECH—Today’s Word Is Innovation
Innovators, this is your day, and what better way to start than with breakfast with some of the industry’s leading innovators? The Women of FABTECH Breakfast and Tech Tour, from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m., celebrates the importance of women and their metalforming and fabricating innovations. The event includes a continental breakfast and tech tour on the show floor. Price: $25.

Today’s keynote at 8:30 a.m., Inspiring Creativity in the Workplace, features Pixar Animation’s Matthew Luhn, who will provide strategies for creating a culture that encourages and nurtures new ideas, and embraces fear and failing as necessary parts of the creative process.

And at 12:30 p.m., an expert panel session explores Innovative Approaches for Workforce Development & Recruiting Talent. Learn from educators and manufacturers how to build a consistent workforce pipeline. Participants include Brad Beckner, Chicago territory vice president for Kelly Services; Mike Cattelino, apprenticeship manager at Fox Valley Technical College; Laura Elsner, workforce development manager for DeWys Manufacturing; and Warrant Long, commodity manager at Briggs & Stratton Products Group.

The FABTECH 2017 Education Program provides valuable learning experiences for every member of your team. Technical sessions are presented by the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA), Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, Society of Manufacturing Engineers and Chemical Coaters Association International. Among the topics covered: cutting, finishing, forming and fabricating, management, job-shop solutions, automation and robotics, stamping, and tube and pipe. And, the American Welding Society presents a comprehensive lineup of welding education, including the Resistance Welding School.

PMA’s technical sessions allow attendees to learn from leading industry experts, exchange best practices and explore new technologies. Today’s sessions at 8 and 10:30 will address deep-drawing and die-sensing technologies.
