NTMA Organizes National Apprentice Competition
Thursday, September 28, 2006
The National Tooling & Machining Association (NTMA) is presenting its 35th Annual National Apprentice Competition, open to NTMA national member employees who will complete their apprenticeships during 2007 or who have received appropriate credentials through the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS).
Contestants will compete for regional honors in order to qualify for the national run-offs, which will be held in Pittsburgh, PA, in mid-May 2007. Regional and national competitions involve machining projects and written tests, with contestants using engine lathes, vertical milling machines and surface grinders to make precision parts to blueprint specifications.
