Kushner Electroplating School, Sunnyvale, CA, announced its fall 2005 schedule for two-day programs in electroplating. Electroplating Know How Basics will be held in Los Angeles, CA, October 17-18; Detroit, MI, October 31-November 1; and Dallas, TX, November 3-4.
Topics covered include mathematics of electroplating; chemistry and electrochemistry; environmental and safety issues; plating cycles; cleaning and rinsing techniques; and testing procedures.

Lean Workshops Offered by University of Idaho Boise

The University of Idaho Boise College of Engineering, through its TechHelp manufacturing-extension partnership, is offering a number of workshops to assist manufacturers in going lean.
TechHelp events include one-day Lean Manufacturing 101 workshops on December 6, 2005, and January 17, 2006, at the Idaho Commerce & Labor building in Twin Falls, ID. The same workshops also will be held on December 13, 2005, and January 10, 2006, at the Owyhee Plaza Hotel in Boise, ID. Attendees will learn how to do more with less, eliminate waste and produce what customers want when they want it, according to workshop sponsors.
The Lean Certificate Series of six workshops will be held from December 6, 2005, to March 28, 2006, at the Owyhee Plaza Hotel, Boise, ID.
Other upcoming TechHelp workshops include 5S Visual Workplace, Setup Reduction, Cellular Flow, Total Productive Maintenance and Change Management.
