Prepainted-Coil Slitting Line

ATAS Intl., Allentown, PA, a manufacturer of commercial and residential metal roof, wall and ceiling systems, has installed a new single-loop coil-slitting line from Braner/Loopco, Schiller Park, IL. The line can process 15-ton 60-in.-wide coils of prepainted aluminum, galvanized steel, and copper and zinc alloys in gauges from 0.015 to 0.075 in. Line speed peaks at 1000 ft./min. The line includes a production-reporting system, and coil cars equipped with wireless operator controls.

Formtek Sells Equipment for Strip Galvanizing Line

Gregory Industries, Canton, OH, has installed a turret recoiler and turret uncoiler from B&K, a Formtek Group (Itasca, IL) company. Gregory manufactures highway guard rails. The new B&K equipment has increased coil capacity, reduced downtime and increased throughput of its continuous-strip galvanizing line.
