Prepainted-Coil Slitting Line

ATAS Intl., Allentown, PA, a manufacturer of commercial and residential metal roof, wall and ceiling systems, has installed a new single-loop coil-slitting line from Braner/Loopco, Schiller Park, IL. The line can process 15-ton 60-in.-wide coils of prepainted aluminum, galvanized steel, and copper and zinc alloys in gauges from 0.015 to 0.075 in. Line speed peaks at 1000 ft./min. The line includes a production-reporting system, and coil cars equipped with wireless operator controls.

www.hearingportal.com, combining data from its two prominent brands—Howart Leight earplugs and Bilsom earmuffs. Safety managers can peruse the site for the latest in hearing-protection technology and products, and for information to help ensure safety-program compliance and effectiveness. The site features a series of short articles addressing topics such as understanding ratings, noise measurements and how noise-reduction ratings are calculated.
Formtek Sells Equipment for Strip Galvanizing Line

Gregory Industries, Canton, OH, has installed a turret recoiler and turret uncoiler from B&K, a Formtek Group (Itasca, IL) company. Gregory manufactures highway guard rails. The new B&K equipment has increased coil capacity, reduced downtime and increased throughput of its continuous-strip galvanizing line.
