QuickQuote Add-In Certified for Autodesk Inventor
Thursday, September 18, 2003
Quickparts.com, an online source for custom-manufactured rapid prototypes and low-volume metal and plastic parts, announced that its QuickQuote Add-In for Autodesk Inventor has been certified for Autodesk Inventor 6 and Autodesk Inventor 7 3-D mechanical-design software.
With the add-in, when designers select the Buy Your Part Button in Inventor, the native CAD and STL data transmit over a secure connection to Quickparts.com servers. From there, users can complete the order or choose to e-mail, print or save quotes.
The software and linkup allow design engineers to make live changes to Inventor models and gain immediate feedback on project costs, thereby “saving time in the quoting process and reducing the time to deliver products to market,” according to Barrett Kamille, partner applications manager for the manufacturing division at Autodesk.
