Welding- and cutting-equipment manufacturer Lincoln Electric Holdings, Inc., Cleveland, OH, received the 2008 Ohio Governor’s Excellence in Exporting Award for its superior performance in exporting and contributions to the Ohio economy. Ohio Governor Ted Strickland presented the award to Richard J. Seif, Lincoln Electric’s senior vice president of global marketing. The ETC (enclosed track conveyor) product line manufactured by Product Handling Equipment, Inc., Buckner, KY, has been acquired by 1stSource Products, Inc., Jeffersonville, IN. 1stSource will rebrand the conveyor line as E-Trac Lite, supplementing its existing E-Trac high-capacity square-tube enclosed-track conveyors. Armor-Plate Production Proves Lucrative for AZ Firm

LAI International, Inc., Scottsdale, AZ, a supplier to Boeing, Eaton, GE, Lockheed Martin and other Fortune 500 manufacturers, has won several contracts for manufacturing armor-plate assemblies. As part of its recent agreements, LAI received five awards for production of military-vehicle armor plating developed by the Army Research Lab, designed to stop penetrating-type explosives.
LAI supplies precision components and subassemblies using processes such as hot forming, CNC machining, chemical milling and five-axis precision waterjet drilling. It operates five U.S. facilities; www.laico.com
