Vero Intl. Acquires Die-Design Software Provider

CAD/CAM software supplier Vero Intl., Bingham Farms, MI, acquired Smirtware, Inc., Wixom, MI, a developer and licenser of stamping-die-design software for the automotive industry. Its customers include Ford, General Motors and Chrysler in North America, and Fiat in Italy and Volvo in Sweden.
AddisonMckee to Build New Plant, Add Capacity

With three-yr. revenue growth of 64 percent and expectations to grow by 42 percent over the next two years, AddisonMckee, Wilmington, OH, manufacturer of machines for tube bending and end forming, will construct a new 66,550-sq.-ft. facility. It will increase manufacturing space by 66 percent compared to its current facility, and offer an additional 85,000 sq. ft. for future expansion. The firm employs 126 in the United States (145 in Europe and Asia), and expects to hire 35 more in the next three years.
