ANSI Approves Revision
of B11.19—Performance Criteria for Safeguarding

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has approved a substantial revision of the B11.19 standard, Performance Criteria for Safeguarding, according to the Association of Manufacturing technology. The revised standard complements ANSI B11 machine-tool safety standards and covers detailed requirements of protective measures. These include fixed, adjustable and interlocked guards; safeguarding and awareness devices; safeguarding methods and safe-work procedures; complementary equipment; and inspection and maintenance of safeguarding equipment; and training. Two Prima North America Divisions Share New HQ

Prima Laser Tools, provider of 2-D and 3-D laser-machining systems and automation, has moved into a new 68,000-sq.-ft. facility in Chicopee, MA, along with sister company Convergent Lasers.
