An 82,000-sq.-ft. plant in Bensenville, IL, is the new home of Ace Metal Crafts, specialists in stainless-steel fabrication. The firm provides laser cutting, forming, welding, sanitary finishes and value engineering. It has stocked the new, larger plant with plenty of new equipment, including a third laser-cutting machine and a nitrogen-generating system to support its laser-processing operations, as well as additional welding equipment that boosts capacity by 30 percent. Coe Press Equipment, Sterling Heights, MI, has shipped a 30-in. by 10,000-lb. coil-feed line to Spartanburg Steel Products, Spartanburg, SC, a manufacturer of metal stampings and welded subassemblies for the automotive, agricultural, lawn-and-garden and heavy-truck industries. The coil line can process steel to ¼ in. thick at 50,000-psi yield strength; its servo roll feed offers a maximum roll speed of 317 ft./min. Included is a power straightener with a 20-hp ac variable-speed drive and digital control, and an alligator-style peeler dekinker station for hands-free threading. More at
