Pangborn Purchased by Atlas Holdings

Pangborn Corp., Hagerstown, MD, a manufacturer of surface-preparation equipment, has been acquired by Atlas Holdings LLC through its Capital Equipment Resources unit. “Management is certain that under Atlas Holdings and Capital Equipment resources ownership, Pangborn will further strengthen its North American market position and re-establish itself as the preferred shot-blast and air-blast equipment and services provider in the global marketplace,” says Randy Hudson, Pangborn president and CEO.

Pepperl+Fuchs Earns UL Certifications

The Systems & Solutions business unit of Pepperl+Fuchs, Twinsburg, OH, recently received UL508A, UL698A and UL698B accreditation from Underwriters Laboratories for the manufacture and certification of general-purpose and hazardous-location control panels. The business unit develops, manufactures and commissions marshalling cabinets, displays and annunciators, distribution panels, control-room cabinets, fieldbus panels, custom operator-interface units, standard and custom fieldbus junction boxes, and fieldbus power cabinets. Grant Aimed at Training IL Students
for Advanced-Technology Careers

The Institute of Tribology and Coatings (ITC) has received a $68,000 grant from the State of Illinois to train students to transition from school to high-skilled advanced-technology jobs. With the grant, ITC will train students from two Illinois schools, Indian Valley Vocational Center and Waubonsee Community College, in information technology, technical support, advanced materials and advanced manufacturing in aerospace, automotive, transportation, energy and other sectors. The grant is part of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s High Technology School-to-Work Initiative and is administered by the Illinois Dept. of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. For more on ITC, visit
