Stampers Unite to Serve Chinese Market

Interplex Industries, Flushing, NY, and Stewart EFI, Thomaston, CT, have developed a joint venture to offer deep-draw as well as staked and welded wire-assembly manufacturing services in China. Interplex provides precision metal stampings and plated and plastic molded components and assemblies; Stewart EFI is a contract manufacturer of precision deep-drawn, stamped and assembled components. The joint venture company will operate from Hangzhou, China.

Hydraulic Presses from PH Back on the Market

Aztec Partners, which purchased the product line of PH Hydraulics in November 2003, has formed a new company, Phoenix Hydraulic Presses, Hilliard, OH, to manufacture and sell the presses. Phoenix has retained most of the key PH employees, it says, and can provide parts and service to metalformers operating PH Hydraulics presses. The firm is online at

Colt Automation Makes a Move

Colt Automation Ltd., designer and manufacturer of coil-feed, coil-handling and press-automation equipment, has moved to a new facility in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. The new 48,000-sq.-ft. plant, centrally located near Toronto, houses modern fabrication and welding equipment, CNC machining equipment, advanced engineering and electrical/controls departments, an assembly and testing area and sales and administrative offices. Chris Nantau is the new national sales manager for Colt Automation. The firm offers coil-feed and straightener systems to 72-in. and 70,000-lb. capacity; space-saver systems, cut-to-length lines, coil cars, up-enders and all related coil-handling equipment.
