Liburdi Dimetrics Acquires Welding Lines,
Restructures Sales Network

Liburdi Dimetrics Corp., Davidson, NC, a manufacturer of welding equipment, has acquired the rights to Graham Arc 450/550 tube-to-tubesheet weld heads as well as Graham Arc M and MH open-arc wire-feed weld heads. Liburdi Dimetrics will now produce them in its Davidson plant.
Coinciding with the acquisition, the company has restructured its sales network. It will partner with representatives and distributors worldwide and has recently opened an office in Tianjin, China, in an effort to have closer contact with customers.

NADCAP Certifies Sciaky for Electron-Beam Welding

Sciaky, Inc., Chicago, IL, has received certification by the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (NADCAP) for its electron-beam welding services. This comes as the company has committed more than 10,000 sq. ft. to its welding bay, which includes four electronic-beam welding machines, an Acuweld 1000 arc-welding system, several resistance-welding machines and a related laboratory. The VX-300 welding chamber at Sciaky reportedly is the largest electronic-beam welding facility in the United States.
Sciaky offers manufacturing capabilities for part preparation, fixture design and building, and pre- and post-weld machining. Heattreating and nondestructive testing as well as additional operations also are available.
Beckett Air Automates
Blower-Housing Manufacturing Line

Beckett Air Inc., Elyria, OH, has automated its blower-housing manufacturing line to better produce housings for blower wheels, used in the HVAC industry. The automated line, which processes aluminized-steel coils, features a laser cutter and robotic-welding station.
The new line enables the company to provide blower-housing customers with high quality and short lead times for samples and production housings, according to Jeff Eschweiler, Beckett Air blower-housing product manager.
