Fastener Manufacturer Gains Laboratory Accreditation

Continental Midland, LLC has had its laboratory in Franklin Park, IL, A2LA-certified. The certification, from the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation, covers a wide range of products including, plastics, printed wiring boards, insulation systems, information technology appliances, and measuring and testing equipment. The A2LA is a nationally recognized accreditation organization that accredits testing laboratories in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025--General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.
Foundation Announces Record Level
of Workforce-Development Grants

The Precision Metalforming Association Educational Foundation (PMAEF) will make available training and education grants totaling $208,500 during the 2007 fiscal year, according to Gretchen Zierick, PMAEF chair. The budget represents an increase of nearly $40,000 over the 2006 budget, and is the highest ever from the foundation. PMAEF accepts requests for funding from organizations whose programs and services promote, enhance and support the development of a metalforming workforce in the United States.
