Toledo Metal Spinning a Finalist for Ethics Award

Toledo Metal Spinning Co., Toledo, OH, has been named a finalist in this year’s Better Business Bureaus’ International Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics Competition. The company, a finalist in Category 3 (11-99 employees), is the first metalforming shop to be recognized in the competition. An estimated 1500 businesses entered local Torch competitions, with 83 proceeding to the national level. Torch Awards, according to BBB, recognize the long-term value of honest and honorable business practices. Winners will be announced in September.

Lee Spring Gains ISO Registration

Lee Spring Co. has been registered to ISO 9001:2000 for its headquarters’ plant in Brooklyn, NY, its manufacturing facility in Bristol, CT and its manufacturing and distribution facility in St. Charles, MO. It expects to achieve registration by the end of this year for its manufacturing and distribution facilities in Greensboro, NC, and Gilbert, AZ. Its registration applies to the design, manufacture and distribution of mechanical springs, including compression, extension and torsion springs, washers, wire forms and four-slide parts, stampings, assemblies and other related products. Production capability ranges from 0.005- to 0.500-in.-dia. wire. It performs in-house plating, passivation, powder coating, grinding, heattreating, polishing and assembly.

De-Sta-Co University—a New Training Resource
