Greer Steel Fires-up New Mill

Greer Steel, Dover, OH, has installed and started up a new 22-in. finishing mill, supplied by I2S. The mill increases the firm’s temper capacity to 3000 tons/month. It produces cold-rolled strip steel as coils or cut-to-length sections.

Dreistern Markets Rollform Tools as “Made in the U.S.A."

Dreistern Inc., Telford, PA, marked August 1, 2004, as the official launch date for its U.S.-made tooling, developed to complement its Professional-series line of rollforming machines. Its tooling capabilities include design, manufacture, heattreatment and tryout. It expects that U.S.-made tools in conjunction with a stock program of machines will reduce delivery times.

UCT Grants Metal-Finishing License
to Hale Chrome Service

Universal Chemical Technologies (UCT), Inc., has granted a license to Hale Chrome Service, Toledo, OH, allowing Hale to incorporate UCT UltraCem metal-finishing technology. UltraCem, a fifth-generation electroless nickel-boron coating is used extensively in defense, aerospace, automotive and oil-and-gas industries. Hale will use it in addition to its in-house lines of electroless nickel and proprietary chrome treatments.
