Textron Out of the Fastening Business

Textron Inc., Providence, RI, has sold its Fastening Systems unit to a California-based private equity firm, Platinum Equity. The sale follows several similar moves made recently by Textron in its effort to divest itself of non-core manufacturing businesses. Textron owns leading aircraft manufacturers Bell Helicopter and Cessna Aircraft, among other well-known brands. Learn more at

Stripmatic Upgrades Quality-System Registration

Metalforming company Stripmatic Products, Inc., Cleveland, OH, has upgraded its quality-system registration from QS9000 to ISO/TS16949:2002. The company specializes in a unique stamping process that forms tubular-shaped parts, as an alternative to machined or cut-off tube.
