Stamtec 1100-Ton Press Stars in New GE Plant

The ribbon has been cut on the new GE Appliances cooking-products plant in LaFayette, GA, known as Roper Corp. The $88 million facility represents one part of GE’s $1 billion investment to revitalize its appliance division and reshore its manufacturing operations. Participants in the widely anticipated opening-day ceremonies at Roper were U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson and Georgia Governor Nathan Deal, who together cycled the new Stamtec press.

Custom Rollformer Rolls Out New Website

Omco Corp., Wickliffe, OH, has launched an updated website describing its breadth of metalforming capabilities—custom rollforming, and a host of value-added operations including punching, notching, embossing, custom assembly, powder coating, fastening and packaging. Jagemann Stamping Expansion Nears Completion

The 50,000-sq.-ft. expansion of the Jagemann Stamping Co. facility in Manitowoc, WI, is two weeks ahead of schedule and should be completed in September 2013.  The firm, a manufacturer of deep-drawn and progressive metal stampings and fineblanked parts, plans to add as many as 100 new employees.
