Tuesday, August 13, 2002
Automated Machinery, Inc. (AMI), Cincinnati, OH, has rebuilt and retrofit new controls and digital servo drives onto a Wiedemann CNC turret punch press for the A.O. AMI upgraded the 23-year-old press by adding a GE Fanuc O-PC with digital servo drives to improve reliability and ensure that the controls are compatible with another press AMI rebuilt for A.O. Smith last year. AMI also rebuilt the lower turret, workholder and center support table of the press; replaced the guide tracks, index locating pins and Y ballscrew; and repaired the cross-slide mount for workholders, lubrication system, repositioners and X and Y guide-rail bearings. A. O. Smith Water Products Co. manufactures hot-water-heating systems.
