ASM Materials Solutions Slated for October

ASM Materials Solutions 2003, the annual technical meeting of ASM International, will be held October 13-15, at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Pittsburgh, PA.
This year, Material Solutions highlights fuel-cell material-technology developments with more than 70 presentations related to the topic. Other topics include failure analysis and prevention, metallurgical modeling for aluminum alloys, and processing and fabrication of advanced materials. Materials Solutions is co-located with the Quality Testing Show of the American Society of Nondestructive Testing, which focuses on new materials-testing equipment.
The exhibition portion of the event will include exhibitors involved in materials testing, materials characterization, metals, processing, material applications and failure analysis. In addition, fast-track presentations on the show floor will feature live demonstrations and practical how-to information.

ASM Introduces Online Alloy Info

ASM International, Materials Park, OH, has debuted ASM Alloy Center Online, allowing Internet users to rapidly search ASM materials for a wealth of information on metal alloys.
“It would take hours to search through the Internet or a library to find this kind of information,” says Dr. Donald R. Muzyka, ASM president, noting that the same breadth of online information would require more than $5000 worth of equivalent ASM hardcopy reference products.
