Robots on the Move

Fueled by its best quarter in 6 yr., the North American robotics industry enjoyed a 41-percent boost in sales during the first half of the year. The majority of the growth was fueled by orders from automotive manufacturers and their suppliers, where U.S. robot orders jumped by 60 percent; nonautomotive orders increased 23 percent through June, led by gains in metalworking applications (up 70 percent).
