Punch Press Products Retains ISO Certification

Equipment Available for Robot Research

Universities and technical institutions are eligible to apply for the new Robotics Research Equipment Award sponsored by the Robotic Industries Association (RIA), Ann Arbor, MI. Research groups selected by a panel of RIA members will receive new and/or used robots and accessory equipment for 24 months in order to conduct research on topics of interest to RIA membership. The first equipment awards will be announced at the International Robots and Vision Show this September in Rosemont, IL. Barnes Aerospace Expands
Singapore Manufacturing Operations

Barnes Aerospace, Bristol, CT, is planning a new manufacturing facility in Singapore to produce precision aerospace components for use in aircraft engines. The company currently operates two facilities in Singapore, one for repair and overhaul work and the other for OEM manufacturing. The company produces precision machined and fabricated components and assemblies for OEM turbine, airframe and industrial-gas-turbine builders worldwide, and also performs jet engine overhaul and repair. “By expanding our presence in Singapore, we increase our global manufacturing capacity in one of the major aviation centers in Asia,” says Patrick Dempsey, Barnes Aerospace president.
