Stainless-steel service center Penn Stainless, Quakertown, PA, received an Export Achievement Certificate from the U.S. Dept. of Commerce (DoC). The firm supplies and processes flat-rolled stainless-steel bar, structural and tubular products;

New Laser-Cutting Machine

Beginning in September, 2010, Eckmann Custom Products, Racine, WI, a provider of stamped and deep-drawn metal parts and spin-form pulleys, will add a 4400-W laser-cutting machine to its stable. The machine, a Bystronic BySprint Pro 3015 model, will be able to cut aluminum to 1/2-in. thick and steel to ¾ in. Eckmann will use the machine for prototype development and for short-run production, to eliminate the need, in many cases, for blanking dies. More at
