Alabama Stamper Purchases Heavy-Duty Feed Line

Choice Fabricators, Inc., Attalia, AL, a high-volume Tier One automotive stamper and precision fabricator, has purchased a 42-in. by 0.25-in. by 35,000-lb.-capacity press-feed system from Cooper-Weymouth, Peterson (CWP), a division of Formtek Maine, Clinton, ME. The feed line includes a ServoMax servo roll feed with 6-in.-dia. full-width matte chrome rolls, handwheel-adjustable edge guides, anti-backup rolls, an automatic lubrication system, adjustable-height cabinet base and touchscreen operator controls. The straightener has 6-in.-dia. pinch rolls, 4-in. backed-up straightening rolls, powered head adjustment, peeler table and blade, and consolidated pushbutton controls with HMI interface. Other features: 35,000-lb.-capacity uncoiler with full-radius drum mandrels, hydraulic expansion, inching drive, ultrasonic brake control, laser coil alignment, secondary holddown arm with powered rider roll and coil-loading car. Ceratizit Grows Through Acquisition

Ceratizit, a Luxembourg-based supplier of hard-material products for wear protection and cutting tools (with North American sales headquarters in Columbia, SC), has acquired Newcomer Products, Inc., Latrobe, PA. Newcomer Products manufactures and finishes tungsten-carbide products for metal cutting and wear applications. It employs 130 people and had sales of $20 million in 2006. Moeller Opens Tooling Facility in Mexico
