Metal Stamper Taps Chinese Market
Monday, July 21, 2003
Turning the tables on low-cost Chinese imports of ferrules, shells, eyelets and metal stampings, Peterson Manufacturing, Sarasota, FL, has found a way to sell its stampings into the Chinese markets. Peterson has partnered with MMC International, Glendale, CO, a manufacturer’s representative firm with an office in Singapore and contacts throughout Asia. The alliance enables Peterson to establish accounts in China for its deep-drawn parts. Peterson can compete by eliminating secondary operations as it can incorporate drawing, flanging, piercing, notching, dimpling, threading, necking, slotting, lancing, curling and lettering into the press process. It eyes Chinese markets for its transfer-press technology in the areas of home and small appliances, gauges, sensors and controls, valves, plumbing accessories, hose assemblies, locks, water sprinklers and hand tools.
