Metal stamper and fabricator Proos Manufacturing, Grand Rapids, MI, announced that CEO Amy Proos has been named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 in Michigan and Northwest Ohio. The award recognizes outstanding high-growth entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and success in innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their business and community. Proos is the third-generation, and first woman, CEO and owner of the 94-yr.-old company;

Custom rollformer OMCO, Wickliffe, OH, announced that its president and CEO Gary Shuster has been named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 in Northeast Ohio. Schuster joined the firm in 2008, and since that time it has enjoyed a sales of increase of 816 percent while adding two new facilities and 800 additional employees;

Die-component manufacturer Anchor Lamina America, Inc., a Misumi Group company, named Ted Phillips director of business development, responsible for sales in Michigan and all U.S. regions east of Michigan. Tool and diemaker, stamper and injection molder Tenere Inc., Dresser, WI, appointed Greg Adams chief executive officer, the company’s third CEO in its 47-yr. history. Tenere operates four manufacturing facilities in Wisconsin and Colorado, and participates in a joint-venture operation in China;

Dr. Lars Gruenert is the new president and CEO of Trumpf Inc., Farmington, CT. He assumes responsibility for all of the firm’s North American subsidiaries and business operations, having previously served as executive vice president of Trumpf GmbH + Co., and CFO of the company’s laser technology/electronics division;

Stamper Earns 5-yr. Supply Agreement with Heat-Exchanger OEM

P&G Steel Products, Buffalo, NY, has signed a 5-yr. contract to supply aluminum and steel stampings and welded assemblies to TitanX Engine Cooling, Jamestown, NY. TitanX supplies heat-exchanger systems to the North American heavy-truck industry. P&G operates stamping presses to 1000 tons, manufacturing progressive, deep-drawn and transfer stampings, as well as fabricated metal parts, CNC machined components and robotically welded assemblies;

Miyachi Unitek Expanding in California

Welding- and cutting-system manufacturer Miyachi Unitek Corp. has leased additional office space in Monrovia, CA. It plans to migrate existing office space to the newly acquired buildings, and expand the manufacturing space in its 70,000-sq.-ft. main facility. The firm, which now operates from 85,000 sq. ft. of space, manufactures equipment for resistance and laser welding, laser marking and cutting, and more;
