Modine Manufacturing Buys 16th Vacuum Furnace

Modine Manufacturing, Joplin, MO, has purchased a vacuum furnace from Vacuum Furnace Systems (VFS) Corp., Souderton, PA, bringing to 16 the number of VFS furnaces in place at Modine. The furnace, a Model HL-50X120 2-bar external quench vacuum furnace, features GraForm curved graphite heating elements and VFS’ CompuVac touchscreen workstation. It will be used to vacuum braze oil and charge-air coolers for use in trucks, agricultural vehicles and lift trucks.

New Company will Offer Grinding Machines

Overbeck Grinding Machines Corp. has announced the formation of Basaran Grinder Corp., Hauppauge, NY. Basaran will build and sell high-precision ID, OD, radius, centerless, double-disc and surface grinding machines offering sub-micron accuracies. A base machine, the LT-100, will offer a variety of options, according to company officials, including dual spindle, indexing table, automation, crash detection and simple-to-use operator interface.
