New Company will Offer Grinding Machines

Overbeck Grinding Machines Corp. has announced the formation of Basaran Grinder Corp., Hauppauge, NY. Basaran will build and sell high-precision ID, OD, radius, centerless, double-disc and surface grinding machines offering sub-micron accuracies. A base machine, the LT-100, will offer a variety of options, according to company officials, including dual spindle, indexing table, automation, crash detection and simple-to-use operator interface.

AMT Opens Technology Center in Shanghai

AMT—The Association For Manufacturing Technology, McLean, VA, has opened a USA/Technology and Service Center in Shanghai, China. Located in the Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone, the center offers AMT members space for machine demonstrations, training facilities, spare-parts storage and service capabilities.
