Salvagnini Producing Tooling in United States

Salvagnini America, Inc. has opened a tooling operation at its U.S. headquarters in Hamilton, OH, to supply tooling for metalformers and fabricators in North America that use Salvagnini equipment. Previously, tooling was supplied through Salvagnini’s world headquarters in Italy. Key equipment includes a Sodick wire EDM, a Sodick sinker EDM, a cylindrical grinder from Studer AG and a surface grinder from Chevalier. To produce tooling quickly, the operation uses quick-change pallets and fixturing. Italian hardened tool steel provides the base for all tooling produced at the new operation. Installs High-Speed Blanking Line

Phoenix Metals Company, Tampa, FL, has installed a 72-in.-wide 10-gauge blanking line from Red Bud (IL) Industries. The line includes a 50,000-lb. reel, coil stage and load system, peeler breaker, crop shear, Herr-Voss roller leveler, dual-action grip feed system, adjustable shear and stacker system including a drop rejector, auto-lowering stack table, automatic pallet loader and powered discharge conveyors. Phoenix Metals is a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Steel and Aluminum, Norcross, GA. The new line is Reliance’s tenth; its 11th line is on order.
