Wire-EDM Firm Adds Five New Machines

Xact Wire EDM Corp., with locations in Waukesha, WI, and Cary, IL, has added five new Sodick AG400L wire-EDM machines to its stable, bringing its machine count to 43. The firm also is pursuing AS9100 certification (quality management system for aircraft, space and defense) to improve its level of service to the aerospace industry; www.xactedm.com. Delphi Honors Olson Internacional in Mexico

Olson Internacional, S, De R.I., de C.V., Matamoros, Mexico, has received Delphi’s 2010 Pinnacle Award for Supplier Excellence, recognizing the facility’s performance in the areas of quality, delivery and service, and in meeting or exceeding competitive cost expectations. Delphi named 16 suppliers from seven countries as Pinnacle Award winners in 2010. Missouri Metalformer Expanding Operations

Last week, the Detroit Tool and Metal products stamping and fabricating facility in Lebanon, MO, announced plans for a second expansion, on the heels of another expansion nearing completion. The current project, which consolidated a former facility in Iowa with the existing operation in Lebanon, brought 115 new jobs to the plant, and another 10 jobs will soon be added. The second expansion will include a 35,000-sq.-ft. addition to the 77,000-sq.-ft. plant and bring another 75 new jobs.
