Steel Import Permits Climb in May

The American Iron and Steel Institute reports that steel import permit applications for May climbed by 4 percent compared to April. Also, total steel import permits for the year are up 41 percent compared to 2009, and finished steel import permits are up 27 percent.

Motoman Inc. and Yaskawa Electric America, Inc. will combine to form Yaskawa America, Inc. Motoman, headquartered in Dayton, OH, becomes the Motoman Robotics Division of Yaskawa America; Yaskawa Electric America, headquartered in Waukegan, IL, becomes the Drives & Motion Division. Both divisions will continue to operate independently, retaining current management structures and operating in the same geographical regions currently in place.
