Added is a Quick Questions section, allowing potential customers to obtain more specification information or more on a particular application. Another feature, E-Mail to an Associate, lets a site visitor send a particular site page via e-mail to colleagues for review. Labor Dept. Awards Grant
for Metalworking Apprenticeship Programs

The Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) has announced that the U.S. Dept. of Labor has awarded a $1.9-million grant to the National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) to modernize existing metalworking apprenticeship programs. Grant money will fund a new credentialing system for metalworking occupations, using industry proficiency standards established by NIMS. The grant will allow NIMS to develop curriculum guides for the four metalworking occupation areas: metalforming, machining, tool and die making, and machine building. Guides will address competencies required, standardized paths to progress within an occupational area and ways to move across metalworking occupations.

Faro Set to Open China Sales, Support Office

Faro China will serve as the company’s Chinese sales, service, support and marketing headquarters. Oscar Meza, Faro’s director of sales for Asia-Pacific, will oversee the new division.
