Metal Powder Products Acquires Sinteris Division

Metal Powder Products (MPP) Company, Carmel, IN, has acquired the Sinteris Division of Dynagear. The Dynagear-Sinteris plant, in Ontario, Canada, manufactures powder-metal components for automotive engines and transmissions. MPP supplies custom powder-metal parts and operates seven plants in the United States and Canada. The new Metal Powder Products division, MPP Canada, increases the firm’s capabilities in the area of value-added secondary operations and finishing.
New Steel Organization Has a Name

Come January 1, 2004, when the pending consolidation of AISE (Association of Iron and Steel Engineers, Pittsburgh, PA) and ISS (Iron & Steel Society, Warrendale, PA) becomes official, the new organization will be called Association for Iron and Steel Technology (AIST). The name was selected following a survey of general memberships of both organizations. Final approval of the consolidation agreement is expected to come by the end of July 2003.
New Coil-Handling Website

Cooper-Weymouth, Peterson (CWP) has launched a new website,
www.cwpcoil.com, detailing its line of coil-handling equipment. The site includes product information and specifications, relevant industry news and contact information. Site visitors view a slideshow of CWP equipment and find detailed descriptions of servo feeds, straighteners, reels, pallet decoilers, precision levelers, press-feeding and cut-to-length lines. Users can also access online quote forms and downloadable product brochures.
