Metform Enters Joint Venture to Broaden its Offerings

Through a joint-venture agreement, rollforming-line supplier Metform Intl. Ltd., Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, will market and sell the products of MET Intl., Bridgnorth, UK, throughout the Americas. MET will market and sell Metform products throughout the European Union, Russia and Eastern Europe. MET supplies rollforming lines, blanking lines, cut-to-length lines, press-feed lines, and piercing and notching systems. Rollforming lines from Metform can include coil-handling equipment, pre- and post-piercing equipment, length-measuring and batch-counting systems and rotary piercing and embossing equipment. Laurel Steel First to Receive TS16949 Certification

Laurel Steel, Burlington, Ontario, Canada, has become the first North American cold-finisher to receive ISO/TS16949 certification, a standard that will be required by all Tier One automotive suppliers by 2006. The standard specifies quality-system requirements for design/development, production, installation and servicing of automotive-related products. Laurel Steel (
