Metalformer and die builder Tools, Inc. announced plans to commission a new 660-ton Stamtec S2-144-55 mechanical press at its facility in Sussex, WI, in mid-August, 2012. The new press will run progressive dies at 25 to 60 strokes/min. The firm also operates 95-, 200-, 300, and 600-ton mechanical presses as well as deep-draw hydraulic presses to 1000-ton capacity, and maintains a complete tool and die division; www.toolsinc.com/.

Merger: Plante Moran + Blackman Kallick

Effective July 1, 2012, the planned merger of Plante Moran and Blackman Kallick will create Chicago’s seventh largest accounting, tax and consulting firm. Its three local offices will serve more than 5000 companies, primarily middle-market Midwest firms in the manufacturing, real estate and construction sectors.
