Stamper's Growth Fueled by Online Lead Service
Friday, June 20, 2003
The First Index online lead service has been given credit by metal stamper All-State Diversified Products, Syracuse, NY, for enabling the firm to grow so much that it’s planning on expanding its plant for the second time since it opened in mid-2000, according to All-State president Tom Cela. Cela says that his company, which also offers robotic-welding and machining services, recently secured a 3-yr. contract, valued in excess of one million dollars, through its membership in the First Index lead service. “The contract is for a family of heavy-gauge stampings and robotically welded assemblies,” Cela says, “with blank weights up to 20 lb.” Learn more at www.firstindex.com
Tandem Press Brake Headed to LA Stairmaker
Friday, June 20, 2003
Lapeyre Stair Inc., Harahan, LA, has ordered a 28-ft. 500-ton CNC tandem press brake from Hydrapower International, Palmetto, GA. The press brake, scheduled for installation in late August 2003, will have a new Delem DA66W Windows-based CNC control on each end to control the machines individually or to act as one. The controls enable direct communication with the Lapeyre engineering department for remote programming and data transfer. Lapeyre Stair manufactures alternating-tread safety stairs used for catwalks, loading docks and machine accesses, and will use its new tandem press brake to manufacture its new product line of conventional stairs.
