Formtek Opens Equipment-Rebuild Company

Formtek Inc. has opened a new company, FMI, South Elgin, IL, with the capability to recondition or rebuild rollforming, coil-processing and flexible fabrication machines and systems. FMI will work with other Formtek business whose customers look to refit or rebuild older equipment. The new company can remanufacture and recondition equipment, supply related new tooling or equipment, custom engineer and install systems, and supply new controls for complete systems. TriMas to Consolidate Fastening Operations

The diversified TriMas Corp., Bloomfield, MI, will consolidate its Lake Erie Products manufacturing operations in Lakewood, OH, into its facilities in Frankford, IN, Wood Dale, IL, and Livonia, MI. The operations make up the firm’s Fastening Systems Group; the consolidation aims to eliminate redundancies and leverage manufacturing assets. In separate news, TriMas recently acquired the Metaldyne Hi-Vol fastening business, manufacturers of specialized fittings and cold-headed parts including tube nuts, extruded components and locking-nut systems.
