PPG Facility Producing Conductive Inks and Coatings

Following on its late-2012 acquisition of coatings producer Spraylat Corp., the PPG Industries facility in Springdale, PA has begun to manufacture conductive inks and coatings for the electronics industry. The move marks PPG’s startup of a new electronic materials group. The new inks and coatings find use in medical devices, automotive airbags, flexible circuitry, electronic sensing devices and touchscreens. More at www.ppg.com/.

New Name and Image for American Tank

American Tank and Fabricating, Cleveland, OH, has changed its name to AT&F, reflecting the company’s evolution during the last 10 years to become a “global company, serving many markets with a wide variety of precision fabrication products and services,” says president Michael Ripich. Houston to Welcome Huge Materials-Testing Lab for Oil/Gas Industry

Amsterdam-based Element Materials Technology announced plans to relocate its Houston materials-testing laboratory to a new 5.3-acre site. The new 40,000-sq.-ft. main building will house core testing capabilities including advanced fracture mechanics and sour-service corrosion testing; a second 15,000-sq.-ft. building will be dedicated to nondestructive testing.
