Custom Expanded Metal Press Lands in Oklahoma

Taiwanese press builder Jun En Manufacturing Corp. has delivered a custom-designed and built press, used for expanding steel to 10 ft. long, to the Wewoka, OK, manufacturing facility of Expanded Solutions, LLC, based in Oklahoma City, OK. The firm will use the high-speed press to increase its capacity and move into heavy-steel markets such as catwalks and security fencing, according to company officials.

Precision Fabricator Named Supplier of the Year

Precision sheetmetal fabricator Mech-Tronics, Melrose Park, IL, has been named Machined/Sheet Metal Commodity Co-Supplier of the Year 2007 by Rockwell Collins, an OEM supplier of communication and aviation electronics equipment. Market Study Addresses Press Sales for 2006

Albrecht Associates, Richmond, IN, has released its 2007 Market Study of the mechanical and hydraulic press markets. It shows that U.S. press sales for 2006 slid downward by 8 percent, following a 12 percent gain in 2005 over 2004. Imports of presses in 2006 also were off, by 28 percent. The report contains domestic and global data, including information from the Department of Commerce and The Bureau of the Census.
